A.C. Baantjer (1923-2010) was a Dutch police officer who wrote detective fiction, and his long-running series follows an Amsterdam police inspector and his assistant, sergeant Vledder. The Dutch originals name the inspector De Cock; the English titles in this catalogue use DeKok.
