Alanna Knight was a British writer based in Edinburgh, born Gladys Allan Cleet, who lived from 1923 to 2020 and held an MBE. Knight wrote over sixty novels across romance, crime, historical and time travel fiction, along with plays, biographies and histories, and sometimes published as Margaret Hope. The Inspector Faro mysteries, set around the Edinburgh police, are her best known series, with Rose McQuinn, Tam Eildor and Annie Kelty beside them.
