Andre Alexis is a Canadian writer, born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, raised in Ottawa and now based in Toronto. The Quincunx Cycle, five novels set in and around Southern Ontario, is Alexis's best known work, and Fifteen Dogs (2015) from that cycle won the Giller Prize. Other honours include the Windham-Campbell Prize, the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize, the Trillium Award and a 2026 Guggenheim fellowship.
