Roberts holds the Bonnie and Tom McCloskey Visiting Research Fellowship at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and a Lehrman Institute Distinguished Lectureship at the New York Historical Society, and was a trustee of the National Portrait Gallery in London from 2013 to 2021.
