Arne Dahl is the pen name of Jan Arnald, a Swedish novelist and literary critic born 11 January 1963 who also writes regularly for the newspaper Dagens Nyheter. Crime fiction made the Dahl name, above all a sequence of novels about a fictional squad of Swedish investigators, called A Gruppen in Swedish and the Intercrime Group in the first English translation. The first five of those books were filmed as 180-minute stories, screened two 90-minute episodes at a time.
