C.C. Benison is the pen name of Douglas Alfred Whiteway, a Canadian journalist and author born in 1961 who lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Whiteway studied religious studies at the University of Manitoba and journalism at Carleton University, and has worked for the Winnipeg Tribune and the Winnipeg Free Press. Under the Benison name, Whiteway wrote murder mysteries set on Queen Elizabeth II's estates, in which the housemaid Jane Bee solves crimes with the Queen's help. Death at Buckingham Palace (1996) is one of them. Death in Cold Type (2005) is a murder mystery set in Winnipeg. The catalogue lists the Her Majesty Investigates and Father Christmas Mystery series.
