C.L. Moore was the byline of Catherine Lucille Moore (January 24, 1911 - April 4, 1987), an American science fiction and fantasy writer who came to prominence in the 1930s. Moore was among the first women to publish in those genres, following Clare Winger Harris, Greye La Spina and Francis Stevens, and her work opened the way for many later women writing speculative fiction. She married Henry Kuttner in 1940, and most of what she produced between then and his death in 1958 was written jointly with him. The catalogue lists 32 titles from Shambleau (1933) to Jirel of Joiry and Selected Stories (2026).
