Her New York Observer column of 1994 to 1996 became the Sex and the City anthology (1996), which HBO adapted as a series and two films. Novels followed: Four Blondes (2000), Trading Up (2003), Lipstick Jungle (2005), One Fifth Avenue (2008), The Carrie Diaries (2010) and Summer and the City (2011). Lipstick Jungle and The Carrie Diaries were themselves televised. Ten catalogued books end at Rules for Being a Girl (2020).
