Dan Santat, born 1975, is an American author, illustrator and screenwriter. The Adventures of Beekle (2014) brought Santat the 2015 Caldecott Medal for distinguished illustration, and A First Time for Everything (2023) took that year's National Book Award for Young People's Literature. Away from books, Santat created the animated Disney Channel series The Replacements.
