David Loeb Goodis (2 March 1917 to 7 January 1967) was an American crime writer of noir novels and short stories. Goodis was born in Philadelphia and divided a working life between Philadelphia, New York City and Hollywood. The critic Dennis Drabelle wrote that Goodis identified with outsiders such as the working poor, fugitives and the wrongly accused.
