Dennis Lynds (15 January 1924 to 19 August 2005) was an American author of mystery fiction whose best-known pseudonym was Michael Collins. Across four decades Lynds published some 80 novels and 200 short stories with mystery and literary themes. Awards include an Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America and lifetime achievement honours from the Private Eye Writers of America and the MWA Southern California Chapter. Series include Dan Fortune, Paul Shaw, Kane Jackson and Buena Costa County, and private investigators and New York appear in the subjects.
