Don Coldsmith (February 28, 1926 - June 25, 2009) was an American writer mainly of Westerns and a past president of Western Writers of America. Coldsmith produced more than 40 books and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. The Spanish Bit Saga, a sequence of related novels, reshaped the Western by telling events from the Native American point of view.
