Eden Royce is a black gothic horror writer, born in Pennsylvania and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, and the writing draws on local Gullah-Geechee culture. Short fiction by Royce has run in anthologies and in magazines including Apex Magazine and Strange Horizons, with two collections gathering the work; articles and reviews sit alongside it. The Speculative Literature Foundation awarded Royce the Diverse Worlds Grant in 2016.
