Eliot Schrefer, born in 1978, is an American and British author of adult and young adult fiction, and has twice been a finalist for the National Book Award in Young People's Literature. Endangered (2012) and Threatened (2014), the best known of the young adult novels, are survival stories about young people and great apes. Schrefer teaches on the Creative Writing MFA programme at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
