Ford Madox Ford, born Joseph Leopold Ford Hermann Madox Hueffer in 1873, was an English novelist, poet, critic and editor who died in 1939. Two journals under Ford's editorship, The English Review and The Transatlantic Review, shaped early twentieth-century English and American writing. The Good Soldier (1915) is the novel most often named, alongside the Parade's End tetralogy of 1924 to 1928 and The Fifth Queen trilogy of 1906 to 1908.
