Fran Wilde, born in 1972, is an American writer of science fiction and fantasy and a blogger. The debut novel Updraft (2015) earned a 2016 Nebula Award nomination and won both the 2016 Andre Norton Award and the Compton Crook Award. Riverland (2019), Wilde's first middle grade novel, took the 2019 Andre Norton Award, making Wilde the first two-time winner, and was an NPR Best Book and a Lodestar finalist. Short fiction by Wilde has run in Asimov's Science Fiction, Nature, Tor.com and Uncanny Magazine.
