Frederick Forsyth (25 August 1938 to 9 June 2025) was an English novelist and journalist. Forsyth joined Reuters in 1961 and in 1965 became an assistant diplomatic correspondent for the BBC. Thrillers such as The Day of the Jackal, The Odessa File, The Dogs of War and The Fourth Protocol made the name, more than a dozen titles were filmed, and sales passed 70 million books in over 30 languages by 2006.
