Henry Porter, born in 1953, is an English journalist and thriller writer. Espionage, terrorism and the British intelligence services supply the fiction, and The Old Enemy (2021) forms the third part of a quartet. Ten novels are catalogued, from Remembrance Day (1999) to Enigma Girl (2025), grouped into the Robert Harland, Paul Samson and House of Skirl series, one of them written for children. Outside fiction, Porter edited Vanity Fair's British edition for 25 years until 2018 and wrote an Observer column on civil liberties until 2014.
