Hernan Diaz is an Argentine and American writer whose novel Trust won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2022. His earlier novel, In the Distance (2017), was a finalist for the same prize and for the PEN/Faulkner Award, and Diaz has also received a Whiting Award. His first book, published in 2012, is a study of Borges between history and eternity. Frontier life, Swedish immigrants, wealth and the financial industry are the subjects his fiction returns to.
