Jacqueline Davies moved six times before fifth grade and wrote her first illustrated book, The Sad Shape, in third grade; it was never published. Davies writes for readers in grades 3 to 5, and brothers and sisters, school and humour are frequent subjects. Her series are Lemonade War and Sydney and Taylor. Davies has three grown children and splits her time between a town near Boston and a cabin on the Maine coast.
