Jerry Craft is an author and illustrator of graphic novels, among them New Kid, Class Act and School Trip, and a New York Times bestseller. New Kid won the 2020 John Newbery Medal, the 2019 Kirkus Prize for Young Readers' Literature and the 2020 Coretta Scott King Author Award, and no other book has won all three. Craft was born in Harlem and grew up in Washington Heights in New York City.
