Jim Marrs, born James Farrell Marrs Jr. (December 5, 1943 to August 2, 2017), was an American newspaper journalist and author of books on alleged cover-ups and conspiracies. Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy (1989) served as a source for Oliver Stone's 1991 film JFK. Marrs started as a news reporter in the Dallas and Fort Worth area and taught a course on the Kennedy assassination at the University of Texas at Arlington for 30 years. Later titles include Alien Agenda (1997), The War on Freedom (2003), The Rise of the Fourth Reich (2009) and Our Occulted History (2013).
