K. A. Applegate is a publishing name of Katherine Alice Applegate, an American writer of children's and young adult fiction born on October 9, 1956. Applegate is known best for the Animorphs, Remnants and Everworld series, and won the 2013 Newbery Medal for The One and Only Ivan (2012).
