Sir Kazuo Ishiguro is a Japanese-British novelist, screenwriter, musician and short story writer, born in Nagasaki on 8 November 1954. Ishiguro moved to Britain with family in 1960, at the age of five. Ishiguro won the 2017 Nobel Prize in Literature; the Swedish Academy praised novels of great emotional force that expose the gulf under a false sense of connection with the world.
