Kirsten Miller, born 1973, is an American novelist who created the Kiki Strike series. Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City (2006) opened the series, and The Empress's Tomb followed in October 2007. The books follow Kiki Strike, Ananka Fishbein and their friends through the tunnels and hidden rooms beneath New York City. The idea came in 2001, when the lawn of a Manhattan nursing home collapsed to reveal an underground room. The catalogue lists 18 books up to The Women of Wild Hill (2025), with The Eternal Ones and Last Reality as further series.
