Aminatta Forna is a British writer of Scottish and Sierra Leonean ancestry. Eight Forna books are catalogued between 1998 and 2021. Mother Of All Myths: How Society Moulds And Constrains Mothers (1998) comes first, followed by the memoir The Devil That Danced on the Water: A Daughter's Quest (2002). Ancestor Stones (2006) began a run of novels that continued with The Memory of Love (2010), The Hired Man (2013), and Happiness in 2018. The Memory of Love took the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best Book in 2011 and reached the Orange Prize for Fiction shortlist. The Angel of Mexico City appeared in 2016, and an essay collection, The Window Seat: Notes from a Life in Motion, followed in 2021.
