Michael Francis Moore, born 23 April 1954, is an American film director, producer, screenwriter and author on the political left, and takes up social, political and economic subjects. Roger & Me, the debut documentary, examined the collapse of the car industry in Flint and Detroit in the 1980s. Bowling for Columbine, on the Columbine High School killings and gun culture in the United States, took the 2002 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Moore also directed and produced Fahrenheit 9/11. The catalogue holds 10 books published between 1996 and 2011, from Downsize This!
