Lish McBride is an American urban fantasy writer. The debut, Hold Me Closer, Necromancer (2010), is a young-adult novel in which a fast-food fry cook discovers a talent for necromancy; it won a 2011 Washington State Book Award and reached the finalist list for the William C. Morris YA Debut Award. Necromancing the Stone followed in September 2012. McBride grew up outside Seattle, earned an MFA in fiction at the University of New Orleans, and returned to Seattle afterwards.
