Maggie Furey, born Maggie Armstrong in Northumberland in 1955 and dead in 2016, was a British fantasy writer and a qualified teacher. Furey published fantasy from 1994, and the Artefacts of Power tetralogy is the best known work. County Wicklow in Ireland was home for many years. Three series stand in the catalogue - Artefacts of Power, Shadowleague and Chronicles of the Xandim - and the recorded subjects name Lady Aurian, the archmage Miathan, and the imaginary places Nexis and Myrial.
