Marcie R. Rendon, born in 1952, is a Native American playwright, poet, novelist and community arts activist based in Minneapolis, and an enrolled member of the White Earth Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. The Cash Blackbear crime series opens with Murder on the Red River (2017), which took the 2018 Pinckley Prize for Debut Crime Fiction; Girl Gone Missing (2019) was shortlisted for the 2020 Sue Grafton Memorial Award, and Sinister Graves (2022) and Broken Fields (2025) follow. Rendon also wrote nonfiction for children, among it Farmer's Market: Families Working Together (2001), and founded Raving Native Productions theater. The catalogue holds 8 books dated 1996 to 2025.
