Margaret Anne Doody, born on 21 September 1939, is a Canadian writer of historical detective fiction and a feminist literary critic. Doody teaches as a professor of literature at the University of Notre Dame, helped found its PhD in Literature Program, and directed that program from 2001 to 2007.
