Mari Jungstedt, born in Stockholm in 1962, is a Swedish crime novelist and journalist. The Anders Knutas series began with Unseen (2003) and set its first five books on the island of Gotland, pairing a detective superintendent with the journalist Johan Berg. Later series move south, in the Canary Island books and Malagasviten. Twenty-one titles are catalogued through 2024, several translated into English by Tiina Nunnally and two filmed for Swedish television. Jungstedt reported for Swedish public radio and television before writing fiction.
