Marie Jakober was a Canadian novelist based in Calgary, Alberta, who wrote historical fiction and fantasy and lived from August 27, 1941 to March 26, 2017. Sandinista (1985) won the Writers Guild of Alberta Novel Award. Only Call Us Faithful (2002) received the Michael Shaara Award for Excellence in Civil War Fiction, and Sons of Liberty (2005) won the Georges Bugnet Award at the 2006 Alberta Book Awards.
