Mark Gatiss, born 17 October 1966, is an English novelist who also works as an actor, comedian, screenwriter, director and producer. Gatiss co-created the BBC comedy The League of Gentlemen, which ran from 1999 to 2002, and co-created the BBC series Sherlock and the miniseries Dracula with Steven Moffat; several Doctor Who episodes also carry the Gatiss name. Awards include two Laurence Olivier Awards, a BAFTA TV Award, a Primetime Emmy Award and a Peabody Award.
