His investigator Pete Sawyer, born Pierre-Ange, is a French-American private detective working in France. Albert also wrote the Tony Rome mysteries and the Soldato novels, published crime fiction as Nick Quarry, and ranged into westerns and the 1959 novel of The Pink Panther.
