The Jalna novels, a chronicle of the Whiteoak family set at Jalna in Ontario, were among the most widely read series of their day, running from Jalna (1927) through Whiteoaks of Jalna (1929), Finch's Fortune (1931), The Master of Jalna (1933) and The Building of Jalna (1935).
