Norah Lofts (27 August 1904 – 10 September 1983), born Norah Ethel Robinson, was a British writer of more than fifty books who also published as Peter Curtis and Juliet Astley. Historical fiction rooted in English history was the Lofts specialty, though the output also covers mysteries, short stories and non-fiction. Lofts wrote novels, the Suffolk Trilogy among them, that trace particular houses and their occupants across generations.
