Paul Cornell, born Paul Douglas Cornell on 18 July 1967, is a British writer of television drama, comics and Doctor Who fiction. Cornell created Bernice Summerfield, a spin-off companion of the Doctor, and has written for Robin Hood, Primeval, Casualty, Holby City and Coronation Street, plus an episode of the American series Elementary. Comics work spans British titles, Marvel Comics and DC Comics, and Cornell has published six original novels. Cornell is one of two people nominated for Hugo Awards in prose, comics and television.
