The Bee Sting (2023) is the most recent of four novels by Paul Murray, an Irish writer born in 1975 who also works in essays, short fiction and screenwriting. Before it came The Mark and the Void (2015), Skippy Dies (2010) and his first book, An Evening of Long Goodbyes (2003). Private schools, teenage boys and the children of rich families supply much of the material. Murray wrote the screenplay for Metal Heart.
