Philip Shelby (12 July 1950 - 18 December 2019) was an American writer of conspiracy fiction. Eight books carry his name, from This Far from Paradise (1988) to By Dawn's Early Light (2002), including Tides (1989), Dreamweavers (1991), Days of Drums (1996), Gatekeeper (1997) and Last Rights (1997). Subject headings for the run cover conspiracies, intelligence officers, assassins, the United States Secret Service, presidents and elections. Shelby also wrote The Cassandra Compact, the second Covert-One novel, in conjunction with Robert Ludlum.
