Robert Emmet Patrick Barron, born November 19, 1959, is an American Catholic theologian and the bishop of the Diocese of Winona–Rochester since 2022, after serving as rector of Mundelein Seminary from 2012 to 2015 and as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles from 2015 to 2022. Barron founded Word on Fire, hosted the PBS documentary series Catholicism, and released the 2016 film series Catholicism: The Pivotal Players, syndicated for national television in the United States; a large social media following has brought the nicknames bishop of Catholic social media and bishop of the Internet.
