Robert Francis Jones (1934–2002) was a novelist and an outdoor writer, contributing to Sports Illustrated and Field & Stream. Jones grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, took an honours degree from the University of Michigan in 1956, and served as a US Navy ensign with sea duty in the western Pacific. Critics have described the fantastic and surrealistic strain in the novels as slipstream.
