Rudy Rucker, born March 22, 1946, is an American mathematician, computer scientist and science fiction author, and a founder of the cyberpunk movement. Software and Wetware, the first two Ware novels, each won a Philip K. Dick Award, and Rucker edited the webzine Flurb until 2014. Rucker writes both fiction and non-fiction, and the 53 catalogued books run from White Light (1980) to Sqinks (2025), taking in Infinity and the Mind (1981) and The Fourth Dimension (1984).
