Steve Coll, born October 8, 1958, is an American journalist, historian, academic and executive. Coll was dean of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and its Henry R. Luce Professor of Journalism until 2022, writes for The New Yorker, and ran the New America think tank as president and chief executive from 2007 to 2012. Two Pulitzer Prizes sit among the awards, alongside two Overseas Press Club Awards, two Arthur Ross Book Awards and the Lionel Gelber Prize.
