Steven Hyden, born in 1977, is an American music critic, author and podcast host. Hyden served as national music editor at The A.V. Club, wrote for Grantland, and holds the role of cultural critic at Uproxx, with album reviews in Pitchfork and articles in Rolling Stone. Eight books are catalogued, from Whatever Happened to Alternative Nation? (2011) to Is This It: The Never-Ending Rise and Fall of the Strokes (2026).
