Thomas Gifford was an American author of thriller novels, born in 1937 and died in 2000, and a Harvard University graduate. The crime novel The Glendower Legacy (1978) brought Gifford international fame and was filmed in 1981 as Dirty Tricks; the Vatican thriller The Assassini followed. Gifford also wrote as Dana Clarins, Lisa Drake and Thomas Maxwell. Other catalogued titles include The Wind Chill Factor (1975), The Cavanaugh Quest (1976) and Guilty Parties (1985).
