Vendela Vida, born in 1971, is an American novelist, journalist, editor and screenwriter who founded and edits The Believer magazine and has taught writing. Eight books carry her credit, from Girls on the Verge (1999) to We Run the Tides (2021). Two of them collect Believer interviews: Confidence, or the Appearance of Confidence (2014) gathers music interviews and Let's Break Some Black Hearts (2015) a decade of film interviews. And Now You Can Go (2003), Let the Northern Lights Erase Your Name (2007), The Lovers (2010) and The Diver's Clothes Lie Empty (2015) complete the run.
