Nightside is a fantasy series by British author Simon R. Green, set in a dark hidden netherworld beneath London where the supernatural and science fiction technology exist side by side. John Taylor, a private investigator, works its cases, and the books put the classic pulp detective form together with fantasy, horror and a cynical humour. Twelve novels make up the series, and Tales from the Nightside (2015) brings the catalogue to 13. Something from the Nightside and Agents of Light and Darkness opened the run in 2003, followed by Nightingale's Lament (2004), Hex and the City (2005), Paths Not Taken (2005), Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth (2006), Hell to Pay (2006), The Unnatural Inquirer (2007) and Just Another Judgement Day (2008).
