Uzumaki is Junji Ito's horror manga, written and illustrated by him, and the title translates as spiral. Serialisation ran in Big Comic Spirits, a weekly seinen magazine from Shogakukan, across 1998 and 1999, and the chapters came out as three bound volumes between August 1998 and September 1999. Two omnibus editions followed, in 2000 and 2010. English-language readers got the series through Viz Media, serialised in the monthly Pulp between February 2001 and August 2002.
