George MacDonald Fraser (2 April 1925 - 2 January 2008) was a British author and screenwriter. The Flashman Papers are the work Fraser is known for: eleven novels and one short-story collection built on the character Harry Paget Flashman. Fraser also wrote the Private McAuslan stories, non-fiction including The Steel Bonnets (1972), and screenplays - the James Bond film Octopussy, The Three Musketeers and both its sequels, and an adaptation of his own Royal Flash.
